Metreon Remodel in Full Swing
I don’t know how I didn’t know this, but Metreon at San Francisco’s Fourth and Mission intersection has recently started a major remodel of it’s interior. The new Metreon will have a dining-centric first floor and a Target on the second. The Lowes (and its ridiculous movie ticket prices) will stay intact for the most part on the third floor. The rarely used forth floor will be a rent space for private functions called The City View.
While I grant that Metreon needed some SERIOUS re-imagining, I don’t know how I feel about this renovation. The Metreon of the late 90s and it’s focus on technology will be gone and I’m kinda sad about it. Not that anything of that Metreon exists anymore. Still, the prospect of the Metreon no longer being a hang-out spot is somewhat worrisome.
